Private Online Tutoring

in Reading and Spelling

Does your child struggle with reading and spelling?  Does your child get confused with letters, their shapes, and the sounds they represent?

I am a certified tutor who uses a structured literacy approach called Orton-Gillingham. Designed for students with dyslexia, it can also be effective for other students who seek a straightforward, logical explanation of the spelling of the English language.

I teach children over age five, teens, and adults. The appointments can be flexible, to work around school or work schedules.

Lessons include intensive, one-on-one instruction in:

  • phonemic awareness
  • letter-sound relationships
  • phonics and morphology

Sessions are online, at least three times per week. Each session typically lasts for 50 minutes. Lessons proceed at the student's pace, with each one reinforcing the skills learned in previous lessons.

The initial consultation is free of charge. There is no obligation to start tutoring services and, after services have started, no obligation to continue.

*For students in Indiana: I am a provider for the Indiana Education Scholarship Account program. For more information, visit https://www.in.gov/tos/inesa/.
